Prof. Petra Terhoeven

Petra Terhoeven is professor of European Contemporary and Cultural History at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. In the past, she was assistant professor at the History Department of Christian-Albrecht-University Kiel as well as guest lecturer at the History Department of the University of Lucerne, Switzerland, at the IMT School for Advances Studies Lucca, Italy and at the German Historical Institute in Rome. Prof. Terhoeven´s main research interests are German and Western European Contemporary History, transnational and comparative history, Italian fascism and the history of political violence and terrorism in the 20th century. She is co-chair of the Association of Contemporary History in Lower Saxony (Zeitgeschichtlicher Arbeitskreis Niedersachsen/ZAKN), together with Prof. Dr. Dirk Schumann. She is one of the six editors of the book series “Italy in the modern world” (Italien in der Moderne, Böhlau-Verlag).
